Sweet tea, meet Moscato.
Sweet tea on a Georgia porch. Moscato in an Italian piazza.
Two traditions that arrived at the same idea — the best drink
in the room is the one that keeps everybody at the table.
The Italian half
Real Moscato.
From Piedmont, in Italy’s northwest corner. Floral,
lightly sweet, entirely unpretentious — a wine
Italians drink among friends rather than study.
The Southern half
Real tea.
The part nothing else in the aisle can claim. It is
what makes Teascato taste like somewhere, rather
than like a flavor someone chose from a list.
Where it comes from
Teascato starts at a pool in
Atlanta.
Our founder is a third-generation Atlantan who grew up on summer afternoons in his grandfather’s back yard — chlorine and cut grass, cousins in the water, and the grown-ups in the shade with tall glasses of sweet tea.
Every so often someone topped off a glass with a splash of wine. Nobody made anything of it. Years later, an ocean away, he found the same gesture waiting for him in a piazza at the aperitivo hour.
Read the whole story“I didn’t set out to invent aFounder, Teascato
category. I set out to put
two places I love into the
same glass.”
When to open one
The hour before dinner. The
long part of the afternoon.
Where glass doesn’t go
Pool decks, porches, boats, camp chairs, the beach. Anywhere a full bottle and a corkscrew are more trouble than they are worth.
Aperitivo, anywhere
Small glass, gentle alcohol, nobody in a hurry. The Italian version of the same Southern afternoon.
Bring a few
Single-serve means everyone gets what they want, and nothing gets left half-finished on the counter.
